Michael's Tavern & Steakhouse is located at 4653 S Straits Hwy., Indian River, MI 49749. Situated in the heart of Northern Michigan, it is widely regarded as the region's premier fine dining destination.
Reservations can be made online through OpenTable or by calling the restaurant directly at (231) 238-2137. Reservations are strongly encouraged, especially for the Steakhouse dining room. Note that separate checks are not available for parties of 7 or more.
All steaks are served à la carte and seasoned with the house rub. Current cuts and prices are:6 oz. Filet — $448 oz. Filet — $5412 oz. Prime Ribeye — $4114 oz. Prime New York Strip — $6528 oz. Dry Aged Wagyu Ribeye — $13216 oz. Pork Chop — $33Steak enhancements like Bearnaise, Blue Cheese Crust, and Classic Oscar Style are also available for an additional charge.
Yes. Michael's features Maggie's Silo Bar, an outdoor bar with comfortable seating and breathtaking views. It operates during the same hours as the restaurant and serves the full beer and cocktail menu — making it a great option for a more relaxed, open-air experience.
Yes. Gift cards are available for purchase through Toast and make a great gift for any occasion — from birthdays and anniversaries to holidays.
Michael's Tavern & Steakhouse is open Tuesday through Saturday from 5:00 PM to 10:00 PM. The restaurant is closed on Sundays and Mondays.
Michael's offers two distinct dining experiences under one roof. The Steakhouse features hand-cut steaks — including a 28 oz. Dry Aged Wagyu Ribeye — along with fresh seafood, house-made pastas, and locally sourced ingredients. The Tavern offers a more casual menu with shareables like crab cakes, short rib tacos, wings, and the signature Tavern Burger.
Yes. Several menu items can be prepared gluten-free, including the Jumbo Shrimp Cocktail, Brussels Sprouts, Cauliflower, Short Rib Tacos, Truffle Fries, Wings, Baby Back Ribs, and the 72 Hour Short Rib. Items marked "(gf)" on the menu can be made gluten-free upon request.
